The RiskWire Housing Pulse interviews are back with Veros’ Chief Economist, Eric Fox, and Research Economist, Reena Agrawal. Once again, Veros’ Economists sat down with real estate professionals Karen and Kari Picarello. The Picarello’s are a mother daughter duo from the Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona metro area working with RE/MAX Fine Properties!
In this second edition of the RiskWire Housing Pulse, Fox and Agrawal attempt to gain more knowledge on the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) settlement, as well as determine the impact it may have on housing markets around the country. Additionally, topics surrounding how the settlement will directly affect Picarellos work are discussed, and more specifically, the changes that real estate agents and brokers will experience with commissions, as well as the end of buyer agent compensation through the multiple listing services. Although the Picarellos see no “world shattering difference” to their particular work, they imagine that there will need to be some navigation in adjusting to the new legal agreements as a result of the settlement.
