Evaluating the Housing Market: Austin, Texas

As the Austin, Texas housing market continues to capture attention, it is more crucial than ever to understand the nuances and shifts that have recently occurred. During the pandemic, the Austin housing market saw rapid growth, but it has significantly slowed down since then. Regarding the current market dynamics, Birdsong noted that, “when looking from the perspective of being a buyer or seller right now, it definitely favors the buyers.” Moreover, looking ahead, Birdsong expects a return to a more sustainable appreciation rate of 4-5% stating that, “we don’t want to see 10-20% increases in a given year because it’s not sustainable and it’s not realistic.” Given the present-day market conditions, Fox and Agrawal offer advice that can help potential home buyers.
